Noelyne Sumba is a Kenyan Bitcoin advocate and the founder of Ark Node AI, a platform that lets anyone hire AI by the task and pay with M-Pesa or Bitcoin Lightning: no subscription, no card.

Her path started with the 2008 financial crisis, which pulled her into financial engineering and then a career in finance and data analysis. At Machankura, which brings Bitcoin to feature phones without the internet, she led marketing and education and later served as Director of Machankura Kenya, helping the service reach tens of thousands of phones across seven African countries. She has also been Africa correspondent for The Bitcoin Layer, and translated the Bitcoin books Layered Money and The Blocksize War into Swahili.

Ark Node AI applies the same idea to artificial intelligence. Powerful AI is still priced for the few, in dollars, by monthly subscription. Ark Node AI prices it per task, from about one shilling, so that a student, a teacher, a farmer or a cyber café owner pays only for what they use. Her short version: intelligence, redistributed.
